Your chance to celebrate International Jazz Day on April 30! The Jim Axelrod Big Little Band brings its combination of swing tunes, up-tempo rhythm and blues, ballads and bossa nova favourites to Wesley United Church, 77 William Street in St. Andrews, on Wednesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. This Fredericton-based quintet features Bill Richardson (lead singer with The Thomists) on vocals, bandleader Jim Axelrod on trumpet, Steven Peacock on classical guitar, Dave Cunningham on bass and John Harvey on drums. You’ll hear music by Cole Porter, Ray Charles, Dutch Mason and Antonio Carlos Jobim, among many others. Tickets are $20 at the door.
